The Skillful Huntsman – Book Review. Forest scene from the Grimm tale “the skillful huntsman”, with the main character; part of some studies I did just to see if I could do them. So I sort of adapted sketches from The Skillful Huntsman to fill up space until I have researched this further. To make the idea more exciting I played around with the idea of the hunting methods of The Kazakhs of Mongolia. It is an animated short by my good friend, Allison Howle. Many people talk about this book, and many think that this book is the best thing since peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but with all this hype somehow no one bothered to write about it in detail. The book 'The Skillful Huntsman' demonstrates a industry practice into concept design. I think its only right to note that I drew upon "The Skillful Huntsman" as inspiration for this approach to developing my design skills. The book 'The Skillful Huntsman' uses a similar project: a story by the Brothers Grimm involving similar themes and characters. It as a source of inspiration for character designs (and eventually vehicle, environments etc.).
